Isnβt this true of all of us at some point in our life? We are at a turn in the road, a new chapter, but unsure where we go from here. And yet we think the answer should be immediate, we should know infinitely whatβs next, where weβre going. We can all take some good advice from this and slow down, and see What opportunities open and where life leads us.
You always get me thinking and thatβs a good thing.
Sooooo good! as a recently retired RN from the hospital after almost 30 years, I can totally relate to this. The way you write really brings one into the story and I'm thinking I know this girl Val...maybe I am this girl.!
And the connection between them, all the words of wisdom given - it was just a pleasure to read!
I like the bits of wisdom here and, of course, the setting. I would like to know what it is you are constructing. This really doesnβt have the elements of a story by itself. It is an enticing scene. Would this appear as a serial in mainstream fiction? Or is it meant to be a reflection on grandmotherβs advice? Will we find out what Raven does next?
Loved this. You seem to have found your voice with these last two pieces. It seems to me that the writing is free flowing as you explore the inner beings of your characters. Instead of just βtelling a storyβ you are unveiling your characters and I think the βstoryβ is just the vehicle for much more!
Hi Montie! Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment! It means a great deal to hear that the charactersβ inner worlds are resonating with you. Iβve been working hard to dig deeper into their emotions and motivations, so Iβm thrilled that itβs coming through in the writing. Iβll admit that some of this comes from my life.
Your insight about the story being a vehicle for something more really captures what Iβm striving for. I truly appreciate you noticing and sharing your perspectiveβit inspires me to keep going!

When weβre in that place, it feels like weβre all alone. If we talk to others, Iβm sure we will find support. That if, is a big question!!
Iβm glad it got you thinking, Lynn. β€οΈ

Note that two paragraphs here begin the same way.
Hi Karen! Thanks for the paragraph tip! I will take care of that.
This is a chapter in a fiction series.
