A Lost Whisper - An Interlude
Interlude - A Glimpse to a secret even Raven did not know.
Dear Reader,
As I write chapters for “Whispers of Echo Canyon,” new stories come to mind. I don’t know if or when they will be added to the book. However, there’s no reason to keep them under wraps.
I’m writing these as Drabbles. A short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. It’s a challenging exercise, which I’m enjoying.
⏭ It would be wonderful if you could leave a comment with your thoughts or ideas! You never know what could pop into my stories from your input.
The Lost Whisper
Raven’s pulse quickened as she unfolded the brittle letter, found tucked away in the dusty cabin. Her grandmother’s familiar script filled the page, addressed to someone named Elara.
The name was unknown until Raven read on—Elara was her twin sister, born minutes apart.
A cold realization washed over Raven. Elara hadn’t survived infancy, her life stolen by the unforgiving desert. The weight of the loss hit like a wave, drowning her. She closed the letter, her heart heavy. Had she been grieving all along? The wind whispered through the cabin’s cracks, as if Elara had always been beside her.
Waiting.
Thanks for reading!
