Dear Reader,
As I write chapters for āWhispers of Echo Canyon,ā new stories come to mind. I donāt know if or when they will be added to the book. However, thereās no reason to keep them under wraps.
Iām writing these as Drabbles. A short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. Itās a challenging exercise, which Iām enjoying.
ā It would be wonderful if you could leave a comment with your thoughts or ideas! You never know what could pop into my stories from your input.
The Lost Whisper
Ravenās pulse quickened as she unfolded the brittle letter, found tucked away in the dusty cabin. Her grandmotherās familiar script filled the page, addressed to someone named Elara.
The name was unknown until Raven read onāElara was her twin sister, born minutes apart.
A cold realization washed over Raven. Elara hadnāt survived infancy, her life stolen by the unforgiving desert. The weight of the loss hit like a wave, drowning her. She closed the letter, her heart heavy. Had she been grieving all along? The wind whispered through the cabinās cracks, as if Elara had always been beside her.
Waiting.
Thanks for reading!
